SWEA Vancouver has decided to award the Undergraduate Scholarship for Swedish Studies in Sweden 2012-2013 to Ms. Taylor Rubens-Augustson.  She will be going to Sweden to study at Uppsala University from January to June 2013, taking part in an Exchange Program with the University of British Columbia (UBC).

Ms. Rubens-Augustson´s application expresses a sincere interest in Swedish culture, history and language. She has attended several Swedish language courses at UBC and desires to continue her Swedish language studies in Sweden as well as upon her return to Canada.

Ms. Rubens-Augustson is currently earning a degree majoring in kinesiology at UBC. She believes that studying health care from a Swedish perspective will broaden her understanding in the discipline.

Demonstrated interest in Sweden in addition to academic acheivements make Ms. Rubens-Agustson a most deserving receipient of SWEA Vancouver’s scholarship, which currently amounts to CAD 3,000.00. We believe that she will take the opportunity to enhance her  experience in Sweden and continue to promote Swedish culture and the swedish language upon her return to Canada.

We wish Ms. Rubens-Augstson all the best in her studies at UBC and Uppsala University, and look forward to hearing about her experiences upon her return in the summer of 2013.
